Hey Peter Kelly,

Fuck you.

I realize some of the other mayors were kicking out the Occupy protesters. That’s kind of too bad, really. 

But you, not content with being your usual, harbour-swimmin’, mediocre self - you decided to get all Machiavellian on those kids.

So you marched your skinny white ass downstairs, entered one of the common folk tents and started wheeling and dealing. You and the protesters came to an agreement - they’ll leave the main square in Halifax while the Remembrance Day services were going on, and they could come back some days later. Everyone’s happy. Those Occupiers even brought a wreath to the ceremony, how sweet.

The economy is shit. The price of food often outstrips the income for a normal family. The government has an enormous disconnect from the citizenship. The upper classes exercise an inordinate amount of political control and amass vast amounts of wealth while paying very low taxes. Le peuple have begun to organize.

If you haven’t caught on to my double-meaning yet, I’m referring to France circa 1988 and to Occupy Wall Street.
